A learning story is what you do when your near the end of the term and you reflect on what you did in that hurumanu.
I found it good that we can reflect on what we did in this hurumanu.

Rover To Mars

Rover To Mars
Hi today I am going to tell you, what I have been doing in hurumanu 3 for writing.
I dont like this activity because I dont like writing about planets. I would prefer if we did our own ideas of what we what to write about.

Do you have a rover?

What is perseverance?
Perseverance is a rover, that is going to land on mars next year.
It will take 9 months to get to mars, mars is the red planet.
The reason they are sending perseverance to mars is so they can see what mars looks like on the ground, the rover will take photos or the ground and send it to earth.

What Is Mars?
Mars is the red planet 4th from the sun even though it is realy cold there it can get to are -230 digress there, and the highest temperate is 27 digress. The sand storms can last up to 3 months.

Recent findings on Mars.
NASA recently found organic molecules on Mars. Organic molecules contain stuff like, carbonates, carbon dioxide, carbides and cyanides.
so this means for humans that NASA may send people to mars in the future.
half of the stuff in this paragraph I dont now what they are.

Gold Rush

Gold Rush
Hi today I am going to share with you what I have been doing in hurumanu 1.
We were answering questions on a sheets while reading a story.

Questions/Answers:
1. Gold is valuable cause of how pretty it is and how rare they can 
be.

2. Gold is found as very small, flecks in quartz veins of hard rock.

3. You can find alluvial gold in river beds.

4. If you ask and miner where you find gold, they would say "Where it be, there it be"

5. here are all regions where gold is found: West Coast, Otago, South land, Golden bay, Marlborough and Coromandel Peninsulan.

6. I am going to list 4 thing of why golds rare: heavy, shiny, malleable and inert.

7.  here the first European to find gold in New Zealand, there name was Charles King, he came from Tasmanian, Charles King found the gold at Driver creek. at 1852.

8. this is how much gold was found before 2003, 312 tonnes from Coromandel Peninsulan. 274 tonnes from the West Coast and 265 From Otago.

9. here are the dates when the gold rush started in each region: Coromandel started in 1867, Golden bay started in 1860s, Otago started in 1861, and the West Coast started in 1865.

10. I am listing 3 dates all together 2 are major finds, and 1 is a small find: 1870s, 1960s and 1980s.

Dlo - Parihaka

Dlo - Parihaka
Hi today I am going to tell you what i have been doing in hurumanu 1.
We are learning about Parihaka, while making a Dlo about them.
Parihaka is a small town that was made in 1860's, the town was made for peace. the leaders were Te Whiti-o-Rongomai and Tohu Kākahi.

I found this activity kind of hard to make cause we had to get lots of information and then put it into a small Dlo.
While thats happing we had to listen to the teacher talking a lot on parihaka.

Becoming a Martian

Becoming a Martian
Hi today I am going to share with you what I have been doing for hurumanu 3.
we are reading a story called becoming a Martian, the story is about Mar's and how you cant do the same stuff that you can do on Earth on Mars.

Answers/Questions:
You cant breath on mars cause it full of Carbon dioxide, and other bad gases for our body, so you would need a air tank to breath with you helmet. If you breath the oxygen on Mar's you would not last 2 minutes so you wont be able to get help.

Mar's has two thing that earth has, that is storms but they have dust storms not thunder storms like us, and they have oxygen but they dont have as much oxygen as Earth does, cause Mar's does not have trees, so Mar's only have a small amount of oxygen.

You can only go to mars if you have planned out when or how you getting there cause you can only get to mars at a sertion point of the year, you have to go when Mars is right beside Earth, but that only happend every 2 and a half years, so its going to be hard to time when you go to Mars.

Mars has water but its not from the rain cause mar is to cold, so Its cant rain, the water comes, from the inside of the planet so it will take awhile to get to the water, but there is a problem the water is frozen so you have to heat it up to get the ice to melt to water but then you got to filter it.

The only way you can get food on Mars Is If you fill up you ship with food, cause on mars its to cold to grow food and you need to have oxygen too, for it to grow.
Fun Fact:
Mars has the biggest volcano in the solar system, that may still erupet.

Mars is the fourth planet from the sun, even though Its still super cold all year round.

Outer Space

Hi today I am going to tell you what I have been doing for the first few days of term 3.
We are writing about if we're a astronaut going to space. I did a paragraph cause i lost ideas near the end, but it makes a good ending, like you need a part 2. 
I found it hard to write the story cause, I dont like writing about space.

Boom! Bang! The frightening sound passes through the shutter. Captain saying “the engine went out”, while passing the clouds. When another cloud forms around the spaceship, as we break through the sound barrier. Leaving the earth behind. Blood Rushing. Heart Pounding. “Everything is going blurry,” said the captain.

Every thing from this hurumanu, is based of the Stories we read.

We read stories, that are called, The creation Of Tuna. Taniwha and Rakaia George.

Well in this hurumanu we did, Watercolor art, Weaving, Haiku poem and Tapa Cloth.

I found this hurumanu, fun to do cause we did some art and art Is always fun.

Final Art/Writing of Term 2

Final Art/Writing of Term 2
Hi today I am going to share with you what I am doing for the one of the last days of term 2.
In this hurumanu, we did some writing, and some art. For the writing we write some poems about 2 story we read, the story are called, The Creation Of tuna. Taniwha and the Rakaia Gorge, Is the other one.
While In this Hurumanu I found it hard to do the poems, but at the same time it was easy.
Some of the art we did was, Water colour Art, Weaving, Tapa cloth and Collage.

Reading - The Bullet

The Bullet

Hi today I am going to tell you about a story I have read, the story is called The Bullet.

The story is about a girl and a boy, they moved to a new house and they are starting there new school, Rodney is the boys name, the girls name is Charmaine, Rodney is getting bullied, Charmaine she has great friend and doesn't know that her brother is getting bullied.

Summary

When Rodney goes to the new school he is bullied, but when he finds the bullet he think he is cool and stuff, but when he sees the man that had the bullet get arrested, he learned his lessons.

Questions/Answers:

I think Rodney doesn't care about who the bullet owner is cause in the book it says, So what Its mine. like he doesn't care that it came out of the dodgy mans car.

I dont know the point of why Rodney picked up the bullet and in the book it doesn't say why he wants it, I think the reason he picked up the bullet is cause he has never seen it before and thinks its ins testing.

I found some clues of why the man probably goes to jail.

1. when the man drives away he doesn't look like he can drive and he probably stole the car.

2.And he looks like he sells smokes and drugs to people cause the way he came up to Rodney.

The reason Rodney near the end of the story think hes cool, and then hes thinks he not cool is cause he has a bullet. And acts all cool but when he sees that the person who had the bullet goes to jail the lesson is that not all cool guys are good guys.

Rodney changed when he found the bullet cause he acts all cool when he goes to school the next day.

I think when Charmaine says guys like him, cause Rodney is starting to act like the man and when she says that he realize he should just be himself.

The author's message is, when you find something that looks call you dont take it you leave it cause it could end up making you have something bad in the future.

We're creating water colour. There were different types of texture that we had to use, they were salt, drip, splat and blend.
I found it hard to do salt cause the salt would not do anything.
I figured it would be easy to do blend and I thought right.

Hi today I am going to share with you what I have been doing in HR.
Were making a story about this photo, the photo has a man, a car and a bear, and the description is humour.
I found it hard to think of the bears personalty.
I figured it would be easy to make the story cause I like writing fiction story's.

Some people say you should run when you see a bear but not this guy.

But if you're me you would see a regular person but really big and fluffy.

As I go up to him he starts going the other way around the car, like we're playing a game.

All I want is to put him back in his car seat.

Bear: “You can't make me do anything,” 

Guy: “You sure?”

Bear: “Pretty sure you can't stop me” 

Guy: “Ok”

Bear: starts Running around the car again to make the guy puffed.

So enough he gets in the car.

Hi today I am going to show you what I have been doing in drama.
Hot setting is when you ask a person question and the person that is on the set is answering the questions, you ask questions about what in the story.
Were making questions for each charterer there were 3 charterers, 5 questions for each charterer but we only need to do the same amount that is in your so if you have 2 people in your group you only need to do 2 charterers.
I did 5 questions for Benny, my bubby did 5 questions for I the person that told the story.
I found it hard to make some questions for Benny.

Ruth Becker And Molly Brown-Survived the titanic

Hi today I am going to tell you about molly brown and Ruth Becker, Molly Brown and Ruth Becker are survives of the titanic. The titanic sinked at midnight 14 April 1912 and was fully gone in 15 April 1912.
Some people would call Molly Brown the Unsinkable Molly Brown.
Ruth Becker was 12 when she was on the titanic.

Benny - Drama

Hi today I am telling you about what we have been doing for the past week we had to draw stuff about a book.
The book is called "Benny". We go given a piece of paper and we had to fulled to into 6 squares.
Then the teacher read parts of the story and when to finished reading the part we had to draw the main event in the part. 
On the back of the paper we had to draw a person and choose from Benny or I.
In the person we had to put there emotions they felt and what we think they are like and there personality.
The teacher showed us a thing called Iceberg, at the bottom of the iceberg we had to put stuff down that was not in the story.

School Journal October 2013 - Kahawai
Hi today I am going to tell you about a book I am reading Kahawai, This book is about two girls there names are Trish and Areta, and they are trying to find some rubbish that is good and that can sell for a lot.
But they find something that is surprisingly would be the only one alive, the thing they found was a fish in polluted water, the fish is called Kahawai.

Questions/answers:

Aretas personality is calm and colonnaded cause in the book when Areta speaks she is calm and not really worried.

I think the story is set when the world is polluted and when Areta, and Trish when they go out to sea it looks like it sunrise and when they catch the fish it nearly sunset so noon.

Trish felt surprised but really happy when they cached the kahawai, probably because it would sell for a lot.

The aurther probably made this story to tell people when you find something that is rare put it back so then they can make more of the thing.

Radiation Is something that can badly hurt you or even kill you cause it can brake up the DNA cells. There are different types of radiation that you can find, I found this information of a website here the link if you want to learn about radiation.

Trish and Areta are trying to find some rubbish that is good and that can sell for a lot. But they find something that is surprisingly would be the only one alive, the thing they found was a kahawai in polluted water.

I think before the story began they packed some lunch for them with some water, and then they drove to the beach with the boat and then put there gear on and then the story started.

Haiku Poem

Hi today I am sharing with you what I am starting to do In hurumanu 4 about a Maori legend.

That was told a lot, the legend was about the creation of tuna I got interspersion.

From the legend to create a haiku poem about It and a Tapa cloth Tapa cloth mean bark In Tonga.
I chose to draw some symbols when the eel got cut up In piece an awa and a pā.

First were making a practices and, then were going to make one or two about the book or the video what one we think is better.

Tapa cloth

When we finished the haiku poem we had to create a Tapa cloth about It, I found It fun to make the draft.

A Tapa cloth Is when you create a piece of art that stand out for your culture. Tapa cloth Is bark that Is beaten and then folded lots of times, we were allowed to use two colour, the colors were brown and white, originally the white crayon was on the black paper, while the brown crayon was on a lighter colour brown paper.

The Creation Of Tuna

#1 Poetic Art

Hi today I am sharing with you what I just started in hurumanu 4.

We're going to make some poems about the story we watched.

The story we watched was:

1.The problem Tuna faced was It was to dry in his lake.

2.Maori Vocabulary:
Tipua means abnormal.
Hinaki means eel trap, wicker eel.

3.What type of animal is Tuna? Tuna is a eel

4.Compare the art in the book and video. What are some differences? The people are different shape, the book has colour and the video has no colour.

5.The style of the art, I prefer is the video type cause it seems more pretty.

100 Word Challenge

100 word challenge

Hi today I am going to share with you what I was doing in wananga.

We were making a story that has to be 100 words no more no less.

The photo we had to make a story about a little creek/river in a forest near some mountain, and it look like the photo was took in autumn/fall.

I frigged it would be easy to make the first few sentences.

I got lots of feed back from my teacher and i took that and added what she said on to my story.

Heres my story:

Down through the forest, toward the creek I stood and glared at my reflection on the water.

There was a rock peeking out of the river as a calming breeze came from behind me.

All I could hear was the birds chirping quietly like singing a song from the trees.

While I’m hanging on the tree, watching the sunset off the mountain, the dead silence of dawn put shivers down my spine. As leaves fell from the trees as I sat there feeling empty.

The night came, staring at the moon.

Throughout the night, wind picked up, blowing me off. And here's the photo:

Restaurant Brand Design

Hi today I am sharing with you what I have been doing In hurumanu.

We have been creating our own restaurant, and making our own logos for the shop.

We had lots of options to chose from, I chose fish and chips.

Miss B asked us what was our favorite thing about this activity? And what age group was the shop made for.

1. My favorite thing about this activity was you where able to make it your own style.

2. My fish and chip shop is for all ages.

I found it easy to think of a name for the fish and chip shop.

Emotions I felt during lockdown
I felt a little bit nervous and  happy during the recent lockdown, even because when I heard that school was going to open up, I got really happy cause I can see my friends and cause i feel safe at school because of what happened last year.
