Canterbury Flooding

 Hi today I am going to tell you about what happend this week.

We had a red-code Waring for rain that lasted 2 day but the rain lasted 3 days. most bridges broke because of flooding. Ashburton, Springfield, lower and Upper Selywn huts and peel forest had to evacuated because of flooding. some roads have been closed of from flooding.
Ashburton activated its Civil Defence emergency operation centre earlier today, and residents have been asked to boil their water.

Two Defence Force staff have since joined the Timaru Civil Defence team to help with planning in case more evacuations are needed.

The council said Te Moana Water Scheme users must conserve water "as the current conditions have caused the Te Moana water scheme some problems and it is not producing water. Repairs could take some time, please conserve water until further notice."

Today in Miss Birtch class we look where special and fun places in christchurch. We went on padlet and wrote all of the special places fun in christchurch. As while they have to be beautiful I decide to do Rapaki Track it is in christchurch.
