This week so far we have had to learn about Maori and how they got to Auteroa, We had to do activity where we have to answer 10 questions about how Maori survived on Auteroa and how moa went extinct.
the Maori people arrived from Hawaiki, When the Maori people came to NZ they decided to stay cause they thought is was to long of a ride to get back to Hawaiki. The Moiroiri and Maori have the same D.N.A, The Moiroiri had 2 rules They cant eat each other, They weren't allowed to fight each other. when The Maori people came to NZ they came on waka/boat
when the Maori people came they brought Crop, Kumra, Taro, Paper malbey, Rats and dogs
When the Maori people wanted crops they planted them in the right season
when the Maori killed the moa they did not now that there going extincted.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great summary of the information that you have learned about the early Maori in Aotearoa. It would have been hard setting yourself up on new land. It was a shame that the Maori didn't realise that they were making the Moa extinct.
