Early Encounterrs in Aotearoa

Today and last week we had to do an activity where we had to watch a video about the maori and the european. When we were watching the video we had to answer some facts on a sheet there were 10 facts we had to answer.

Facts-
Abel Tasman is the first person from european to arrive in 1642 at New Zealand and he also gave New Zealand a name that Is Nova ZeaLandia.
When The Europeans came to New Zealand they brought pigs, potatoes, ship rats and diseases to New Zealand.
The ratio of Maori to Pakeha in Aotearoa in 1840 was 40 Maori to 1 Pakeha.
At some point there was a musket war that ended late 1830.
A musket Is a rifle.
Tu Pina was one of the chief navigators helping the explorers.
James Cook was one of the first Europeans to come to New Zealand.

  1. Ka pai Teagan. You have listed lots of interesting facts about the early days in Aotearoa. Most of your spelling and grammar is great. You should say that Abel Tasman was the first explorer from Europe, and the chief navigator was Tupaia.
