How has week 1gone?

Hi today I am going to tell you about my first week of term 2 gone.
I have had 5 different teachers this week. I have had math, reading, Japanese, gym and science.

But other than that I have a good week. the most fun stuff I've had this week would be science.

Every thing from this hurumanu, is based of the Stories we read.

We read stories, that are called, The creation Of Tuna. Taniwha and Rakaia George.

Hi today I am going to tell you about what I have been doing for the last day of hurumanu 5 term 2.

We are doing perimeter and Area for an art piece, we had to find the perimeter for the art we did, and the area.

I found it fun to do this activity cause we got to do pixel art but at the same time we did maths.

Hi today I am going to share with you what I am doing for the one of the last days of term 2.
In this hurumanu, we did some writing, and some art. For the writing we write some poems about 2 story we read, the story are called, The Creation Of tuna. Taniwha and the Rakaia Gorge, Is the other one.
While In this Hurumanu I found it hard to do the poems, but at the same time it was easy.
Some of the art we did was, Water colour Art, Weaving, Tapa cloth and Collage.

Reading - The Bullet

The Bullet

Hi today I am going to tell you about a story I have read, the story is called The Bullet.

The story is about a girl and a boy, they moved to a new house and they are starting there new school, Rodney is the boys name, the girls name is Charmaine, Rodney is getting bullied, Charmaine she has great friend and doesn't know that her brother is getting bullied.

Summary

When Rodney goes to the new school he is bullied, but when he finds the bullet he think he is cool and stuff, but when he sees the man that had the bullet get arrested, he learned his lessons.

Questions/Answers:

I think Rodney doesn't care about who the bullet owner is cause in the book it says, So what Its mine. like he doesn't care that it came out of the dodgy mans car.

I dont know the point of why Rodney picked up the bullet and in the book it doesn't say why he wants it, I think the reason he picked up the bullet is cause he has never seen it before and thinks its ins testing.

I found some clues of why the man probably goes to jail.

1. when the man drives away he doesn't look like he can drive and he probably stole the car.

2.And he looks like he sells smokes and drugs to people cause the way he came up to Rodney.

The reason Rodney near the end of the story think hes cool, and then hes thinks he not cool is cause he has a bullet. And acts all cool but when he sees that the person who had the bullet goes to jail the lesson is that not all cool guys are good guys.

Rodney changed when he found the bullet cause he acts all cool when he goes to school the next day.

I think when Charmaine says guys like him, cause Rodney is starting to act like the man and when she says that he realize he should just be himself.

The author's message is, when you find something that looks call you dont take it you leave it cause it could end up making you have something bad in the future.

Hi today I am going to tell you about what I am doing in hurumanu 5.
we had to pick a number from 20 - 40, my number is 30.
We had to do these activity with a bubby.
It was hard to do planks and skips cause I have never done planks, and our skips cause our skipping rope had no handles.
I had fun doing the sit ups, I was tempted to do more but I was to puffed.

Hi today I am going to tell you about what I have been doing in hurumanu 2.
Were making letters to one of the characters from the story, I chose to write a letter to Benny from the character "I".
I found it hard to write the letter to Benny.
I found it fun to make the letter cause "I" has a funny personality by the looks of it on the story.
I figured it would be easy to write the story but it was kinda hard cause i usually dont write letters.

Hi today I am going to tell you what i have been doing in hurumanu 5 for math.
We were getting measurements for places in our school, the place we have to measure were classroom, gym, ball bin 1, ball bin 2 and cupboards.
I would show you how to do volume but i dont know how.
I think volume means how much can you put in there, so how much water can you fit in a bucket, is a example i would use to teach someone. I im not sure if thats what it means.

Hi today I am going to share with you what I have been doing in hurumanu 4.
We're creating water colour. There were different types of texture that we had to use, they were salt, drip, splat and blend.
I found it hard to do salt cause the salt would not do anything.
I figured it would be easy to do blend and I thought right.

Hi today I am going to tell you what I have been doing in hurumanu 4.
were making poems about a story called Taniwha and the Rakaia gorge, the story is about a Taniwha that is keeping the river clean and then northeast wind and he is blowing ruddish into the river.
and then Taniwha the got angry and make a dam but then the wind blow that down and made a gorge.
I found it hard to make the poem.

Some people say you should run when you see a bear but not this guy.

But if you're me you would see a regular person but really big and fluffy.

As I go up to him he starts going the other way around the car, like we're playing a game.

All I want is to put him back in his car seat.

Bear: “You can't make me do anything,” 

Guy: “You sure?”

Bear: “Pretty sure you can't stop me” 

Guy: “Ok”

Bear: starts Running around the car again to make the guy puffed.

So enough he gets in the car.

One group was doing water colour, and the second group was drawing designs. I was in the second group.
Were creating drawing and water colour art, I dont know why though I think it about so we can make a really cool piece of art.
I found it easy to think of my own design. I found it hard to find 2 different designs.

Hot setting is when you ask a person question and the person that is on the set is answering the questions, you ask questions about what in the story.
Were making questions for each charterer there were 3 charterers, 5 questions for each charterer but we only need to do the same amount that is in your so if you have 2 people in your group you only need to do 2 charterers.
I did 5 questions for Benny, my bubby did 5 questions for I the person that told the story.
I found it hard to make some questions for Benny.

Hi today I am going to tell you about molly brown and Ruth Becker, Molly Brown and Ruth Becker are survives of the titanic. The titanic sinked at midnight 14 April 1912 and was fully gone in 15 April 1912.
Some people would call Molly Brown the Unsinkable Molly Brown.
Ruth Becker was 12 when she was on the titanic.

Hi today I am telling you about what we have been doing for the past week we had to draw stuff about a book.
The book is called "Benny". We go given a piece of paper and we had to fulled to into 6 squares.
Then the teacher read parts of the story and when to finished reading the part we had to draw the main event in the part. 
On the back of the paper we had to draw a person and choose from Benny or I.
In the person we had to put there emotions they felt and what we think they are like and there personality.
The teacher showed us a thing called Iceberg, at the bottom of the iceberg we had to put stuff down that was not in the story.

Hi today I am going to tell you about a book I am reading Kahawai, This book is about two girls there names are Trish and Areta, and they are trying to find some rubbish that is good and that can sell for a lot.
But they find something that is surprisingly would be the only one alive, the thing they found was a fish in polluted water, the fish is called Kahawai.

Questions/answers:

Aretas personality is calm and colonnaded cause in the book when Areta speaks she is calm and not really worried.

I think the story is set when the world is polluted and when Areta, and Trish when they go out to sea it looks like it sunrise and when they catch the fish it nearly sunset so noon.

Trish felt surprised but really happy when they cached the kahawai, probably because it would sell for a lot.

The aurther probably made this story to tell people when you find something that is rare put it back so then they can make more of the thing.

Radiation Is something that can badly hurt you or even kill you cause it can brake up the DNA cells. There are different types of radiation that you can find, I found this information of a website here the link if you want to learn about radiation.

Trish and Areta are trying to find some rubbish that is good and that can sell for a lot. But they find something that is surprisingly would be the only one alive, the thing they found was a kahawai in polluted water.

I think before the story began they packed some lunch for them with some water, and then they drove to the beach with the boat and then put there gear on and then the story started.

Hi today I am going to tell you about what I have been reading, I only started reading it yesterday and I found it really cool to read.

Cause it was about a boy named Tom, he was at the beach fishing and he heard something behind him.

What do you think was behind him?

Tom went to his grandad for the weekend since his Mum had work and Tom did not like that, because his grandad house did not have internet.

Question/Answers:

I can relate to Tom cause when were angry we go and do something we love, Tom likes fishing and I like to play with dogs.

Tom handled his angry really well cause he just left when his mum was talking about why she had to leave him there.

When Tom started to calm down he went to the beach and I think that made him even calmer, cause of the nice breeze.

While Tom was angry he could of not shouted at his mother and just agreed with his Mum instead of doing the opposite.

Tom and Kekeno are so different in so many was, but they have a connection to each other some how.

Heart Rate

Fitness and Health

Hi today I am going to tell you what I have been doing in hurumanu 5.

We are learning how to take our pulse, and what it was in 30 seconds and then times it.

I found it hard to take it cause i could not find the right place to put my fingers.

I got 31 for my pulse in 30 seconds and in 1 minute I got 62, I found out a kid heart rate should be 70-90.

If you want to take you pulse, put your middle and index finger on your neck and wait 30 second to see if you feel like a lump going and coming, or you can put you two fingers on you wrist and wait 30 second again.

Hi today I am going to tell you about a book I have been reading its a short kids book with 1-5 pages. Its about a girl named Meredith she looks around the age 10 or 11.

I found this book fascinating for me to read cause Meredith, pretended to be a Hollywood star, Its her dream to be a star of a movie.

I chose to recreate the book cover cause I wanted to try and create a cover for a book so i thought of this book to make one of.

I did a activity where you go to canva and try and make you own cover of a book.

Questions/Answers:

Meredith's personality is bright, shed be the one who wants to make friends with everyone, and would be the one to help you if your down.

Meredith lied about having an audition, I think she did that so she could make everyone proud about her going to an audition.

In this story I think the author is telling a story about what they have done, like the author did the same thing when they where younger.

Meredith's Mum did really think about it when Meredith tell her Mum about what she has been telling everyone.

If there really was an audition I think Meredith would of been panicking when she got there, and prodaly got a not as important character.

Hi today I am sharing with you what I am starting to do In hurumanu 4 about a Maori legend.

That was told a lot, the legend was about the creation of tuna I got interspersion.

From the legend to create a haiku poem about It and a Tapa cloth Tapa cloth mean bark In Tonga.
I chose to draw some symbols when the eel got cut up In piece an awa and a pā.

First were making a practices and, then were going to make one or two about the book or the video what one we think is better.

Tapa cloth

When we finished the haiku poem we had to create a Tapa cloth about It, I found It fun to make the draft.

A Tapa cloth Is when you create a piece of art that stand out for your culture. Tapa cloth Is bark that Is beaten and then folded lots of times, we were allowed to use two colour, the colors were brown and white, originally the white crayon was on the black paper, while the brown crayon was on a lighter colour brown paper.
